Distinctions

Natural hybrid between white spruce and Sitka spruce, primarily on the Kenai Peninsula; slow growth; highly variable needle color.

Limitations

Large trees with poor vigor are subject to spruce bark beetles and Ips beetles; not available in the nursery trade.
