Distinctions

Pyramidal form with single or multiple stems; dark green leaves turning yellow in autumn; outstanding cream white, peeling bark appearing at a young age (best for white bark); year round interest; prefers rich moist acidic soils and full sun; some resistance to birch borer.

Limitations

Subject to pathogens and insects; can be grafted on B. nigra root stock for increased winter hardiness.
