Scholarships for New Students
Each semester, scholarships are available to new students (freshmen or transfer) entering or enrolled in a fisheries or fisheries-related program. The number of awards given and amounts vary, but typically range from $500 to $2,000. To be eligible, students must apply and be admitted to a fisheries or fisheries-related program through the University of Alaska.
To apply for a Fisheries Scholarship, applicants must submit a form and upload a one-page, typed essay as a PDF. See the Fisheries Scholarship flyer [PDF] for details and a QR code to apply, or go directly to the scholarship application form. For priority consideration, the submission deadline is August 15 for fall semester acceptance and December 1 for spring semester.

- Outstanding Junior – $500 award
- Outstanding Senior – $500 award
- Outstanding Leadership – $500 award
