The University of Alaska System policy states that vaccination requirements may only be made by exception and must be approved by the President at the request of the Chancellor.
I have received your request for an amendment to the vaccination requirement to add a COVID-19 booster shot to the current requirements. The request applies to the following:
ALL USERS OF TOOLIK FIELD STATION
Based on your request and President Pitney’s approval, I am herewith authorizing a vaccination requirement for Toolik Field Station to be defined as fully vaccinated plus a booster (with medical and non-medical-religious exemptions).
Please see the procedures laid out in the September 17, 2021 memo from Chief Human Resources Officer Bishko titled “Guidelines for Supervisors Regarding COVID-19 Vaccinations and Face Coverings” (https://sites.google.com/alaska.edu/coronavirus/general-info/updates). The memo has links to exemption forms for employees. Student exemptions are issued by the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities (non-medical), or the Student Health and Counseling Center (medical).
