Prakash to serve as UAF Provost
I am pleased to announce that I have selected College of Natural Science and Mathematics interim dean Anupma Prakash to serve as the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ next provost and executive vice chancellor.
Dr. Prakash’s career has given her deep roots in research and academics, and a keen understanding of the needs of graduate and undergraduate students. In addition to serving as a successful and productive faculty member, she has demonstrated success in administration and leadership for CNSM, UAF and the UA system through leadership of the $24 million Alaska Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research.
Dr. Prakash’s strong relationships with faculty members throughout UAF, commitment to academic excellence and student achievement, and reputation as a steady leader who seeks diverse perspectives make her the right person to serve as our new provost.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Prakash to UAF’s executive leadership team. I am confident in her ability to help our university navigate today’s challenges and opportunities while we build a solid future for tomorrow.
