The Alaska Center for Energy and Power is delighted to have Andrew Miles on board
as its new research assistant professor. Miles brings his expertise in power system
modeling and protection to improve the resiliency of Alaska’s communities.
The College of Rural and Community Development is hosting a monthly speaker series
during the 2022-2023 academic year highlighting research. The first speaker in the CRCD Research Speaker Series is Walkie Charles, director
of the UAF Alaska Native Language Center, who will present on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from noon-1 p.m. online. Please register in advance. The monthly series focuses on community-based research, Indigenous knowledge in academia,
and best practices for ethical research. Staff, faculty and students are encouraged to attend.
