The IAB Life Sciences Seminars continue Nov. 11 from 3-4 p.m. through a combined format, in-person in the Murie Auditorium and via Zoom. This week, Kristin Denryter, Ph.D., wildlife physiologist/director, foraging ecology and wildlife nutritional analysis lab, Alaska Department of Fish and Game, will present "Straight from the caribou's mouth: Tame animals reveal nutritional value of plant communities varies widely during summer." Juneau events on Nov. 18-19 showcase music on the science of climate change

University of Alaska Fairbanks scientists have teamed up with the Juneau Composers Consortium and Con Brio Chamber Series for a unique program of original musical works that interpret climate research. “Climate Soundscapes” will premiere at two concerts in Juneau on Nov. 18 and 19. UAF climate researchers also will give a science talk Nov. 18.

NASA EPSCoR R3 grant opportunity

Proposals for the NASA EPSCoR Rapid Research Response, or R3, grant are due Dec. 15, 2022. The R3 grant enables NASA EPSCoR researchers to work with NASA to solve a variety of research issues that impact the agency’s programs and missions.


Veterans Day appreciation and early registration event

Join the UAF Department of Military and Veteran Services on Nov. 11 in the Wood Center multilevel lounge for a Veterans Day appreciation event. Donuts, coffee and other beverages will be provided. Experts from many student services departments will be available to chat about any questions students have, help them get ready for the spring semester, schedule appointments with an academic advisor if they haven't already, and get courses certified for military or veteran benefits. No RSVP is necessary.
