Business Services Advisory Team brings customers together

Late last year I chartered the Business Services Advisory Team. The purpose of the BSAT is to bring customers together in a format with the service delivery areas to receive and provide feedback to ensure that service and responsiveness are maintained at high levels.


Join us Feb. 4 for Research at the Rink

Be loud and research proud! Cheer alongside our research units on Saturday, Feb. 4 as the Alaska Nanooks hockey team takes on the Arizona State University Sun Devils. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, with support from UAF Athletics, is celebrating all things research with our second annual "Research at the Rink" day! Join VCR Nettie La Belle-Hamer as she drops the puck at 7:07 p.m. at the Carlson Center.


Nominations open for 2023 Chancellor's Cornerstone Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023 Chancellor's Cornerstone Award. The award recognizes UAF staff members who have shown outstanding and ongoing commitment to UAF's community and mission. Submit a nomination using the online form by Feb. 15, 2023.


Science for Alaska: First Friday kick-off at the Pub

For over 30 years, the Geophysical Institute has hosted the Science for Alaska talk series as one of its largest public outreach efforts. The series brings information about current research to Alaskans from scientists with expertise across the state. To kick off the 31st year of Science for Alaska, the Geophysical Institute invites you to attend a new First Friday event from 5-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 3 at The Pub. Those who can’t join in person can tune in on KSUA student radio, 91.5 FM.

Curry CunninghamCFOS Seminar: Prediction methods for Alaska salmon fisheries

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences will host a seminar on Friday, Feb. 3 from 3-4 p.m. featuring assistant professor Curry Cunningham. He will present “Forecasting is a fool's game: Evolution and developments in prediction methods for Alaskan salmon fisheries.” The seminar is available via Zoom, as well as in person in Juneau at Lena 101 and shown in Fairbanks at O’Neill 214. In-person participants are expected to adhere to current UAF covid procedures. After registering in advance, you will receive a confirmation email containing info about joining the meeting.
