The University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute is offering free public family-friendly
tours from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Two different guided tours are available. One consists of a visit to several science
groups in the Geophysical Institute home base in the Elvey Building on UAF’s Troth
Yeddha’ Campus. The other is a visit to Poker Flat Research Range at Mile 30 Steese
Highway.
Join the UAF Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy on Friday, June 23 at noon for this month's NWS Climate Outlook Briefing. Rick Thoman will review recent and
current climate conditions around Alaska, discuss some forecast tools, and finish
up with the Climate Prediction Center’s forecast for July 2023 and the summer season.

Megan Bean has been named the interim director of development for university advancement.
She has served as the associate director of development since summer of 2022.
UAF is hosting an information session July 18 from 2-3 p.m. about an upcoming fall workshop series that will provide support for students applying
to the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. The workshop
is open to UAF-affiliated undergraduate seniors and graduate students in their first
or second year.
