Megan Bean has been named the interim director of development for university advancement. She has served as the associate director of development since summer 2022. 

Bean takes over from Morgan Dulian and will serve in a dual capacity as the associate director, until a permanent development director is hired.

Bean has been with the development office since 2007, where she has provided leadership and supervision to relationship managers both within the central development team and across campus, which includes portfolio management, donor strategy creation, gift conversations and proper donor stewardship and recognition.

Bean has dedicated her professional career to supporting UAF’s mission through philanthropy. She is proficient in all aspects of university development from annual giving, major gifts, planned giving and campaign fundraising to donor relations and data and donor management. 

Bean has served as the annual giving coordinator, annual giving director, and lead major gift officer. She earned her Certified Fund Raising Certificate certification in June 2021. Bean is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Bean, a two-time graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, holds an undergraduate degree in Communication and a master’s in Professional Communication.
