2024 Legacy Lecture to feature Jo Heckman

Steam system maintenance complete

Facilities Services crews and contractors have completed maintenance of the steam system at the Troth Yeddha’ Campus in Fairbanks. Hot water has been restored to all buildings, as has heating and cooling. Please contact the Facilities Services dispatch line at 907-474-7000 with any concerns about water temperature, heating or cooling in campus buildings.


UA Software Request Process updates

Post-fire forage: Morels and more

Collect post-fire spring forage for your table with our experts in the field on June 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Delta Junction. Hands-on search and identification instruction for the elusive and delicious fire morel, with mycologist Gary Laursen. Plus, tips from Alaska DNR Forestry for staying safe on a recent wildland fire site. The cost is $30 per person and registration is required. Read more about the event.

BNZ-LTER Ecosystem Modeling workshop

Join our workshops in the Margaret Murie Life Sciences 107 Classroom for insights into Arctic carbon cycle, permafrost, and hydrology modeling. The event, hosted by the Bonanza Creek LTER and the University of Alaska Fairbanks, will be a hybrid, two-day event on May 30 and 31. The workshop is open to scientists at any career stage, who are interested in learning about ecosystem modeling. No prior experience is required to attend the workshop. Get the workshop schedule.

Geophysical Institute, Explore Fairbanks offer new summer science series

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute and Explore Fairbanks will host free public science talks this summer at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center in downtown Fairbanks. Learn more, including the dates and topics of presentations.
