Chancellor Dan White will host an R1 forum on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 1-2 p.m. in the
Davis Concert Hall and online via UAF's YouTube channel. The event will focus on the results of the recent R1 strategy workshop that drew
more than 60 UAF students and employees. The forum will include time for audience

John Harley, a research assistant professor at the University of Alaska Southeast
Juneau, is the BLaST Scientist of the Month for November 2024! Harley has been involved
with BLaST since 2015. He was a former BLaST Graduate Mentoring Research Assistant
for two years as a Ph.D. student in biochemistry and graduated from the University
of Alaska Fairbanks in 2017. Harley’s research focuses on a One Health framework,
where linkages between humans and the global and local environment and animals are

Join us for a deep dive into the 2024 elections on Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. in Schaible
Auditorium. UAF’s Political Science faculty — Professors Amy Lauren Lovecraft, Brandon
Boylan, and Russell Luke — will each give a 10-15 minute presentation on key insights
from the presidential, Congressional, and Alaska state races. A Zoom option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
