Dear students,

Congratulations Class of 2024! A lot of late night and early morning study sessions got you to this point. You did it. I can’t wait to celebrate with the Class of 2024 at the 102nd Commencement tomorrow.

Commencement is one of my favorite days of the year because it is an opportunity to highlight what makes UAF special: you, the students.

I hope tomorrow and in the coming weeks, you take some time to reflect on the achievement that commencement represents. Graduation may be the end of the college experience for some of you, but it is also the beginning of a whole new life phase. UAF graduates leave this university empowered with knowledge, experiences and friendships that hopefully will have a profound impact on your life.

I want to extend special congratulations to the emeriti, honorary degree recipients, Meritorious Service Awardees, and student award winners we are honoring this week.In addition to the 102nd Commencement ceremony taking place tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Carlson Center, there are also several commencement ceremonies being held at our rural campuses next week. For a full list of commencement events. I encourage you to visit the UAF commencement website.
