Biomedical Learning and Student Training (BLaST) invites faculty, staff, and graduate
students to its second spring mentoring discussion group session on Monday, March
28, from noon-1 p.m. via Zoom. The focus is on "Communication and Group Dynamics."
This event allows students to showcase their research accomplishments in a professional
setting to the UAF and Fairbanks community.
Slip and fall injuries tend to be UAF's most frequently reported accident. To help
prevent these injuries, UAF offers ice cleats to all employees and students, free
of charge.
The UAF Biomedical Learning and Student Training program will host an undergraduate
professional development workshop from 1-2 p.m. March 28 on "Tackling imposter fears
and gaining confidence in research."

Alaska EPSCoR, Alaska INBRE the and UAF Department of Equity and Compliance are collaborating
to offer a three-part implicit bias workshop this month.

Ashlyn Espinosa and Pierce Brooks have been elected the new president and vice president,
respectively, in the Associated Students of University of Alaska Fairbanks election.
The Elmer E. Rasmuson Library will host a virtual presentation, "Fake News, Misinformation
and Media Manipulation," with journalist, author and expert Craig Silverman. The event
will be on Thursday, March 24 at 1 p.m. via Zoom.
Nanook Diversity and Action Council will host FemCon, March 17-19 at various locations
around campus. Events will highlight experiences of women of color, queer folks and
women who are part of underrepresented minority groups.
Summer Sessions opens registration this Thursday, May 17, for 63 day camps as well
as non-credit adult courses.
