The Department of Military and Veteran Services is hosting a Veterans Day event on

Cheryl Rosa, attending veterinarian at the Large Animal Research Station and director
of the Animal Resources Center, will be kicking off the LARS Science Series with a
lecture in the Murie auditorium on Nov. 13 from 4-5 p.m. all about animal feet, focusing
on ungulates like the ones at LARS. A zoom link is also available.
Alaska Sea Grant and partners were recently awarded over $240,000 from NOAA Sea Grant
for a project to train and support new commercial fishermen in Alaska. The two-year project will draw upon program strengths from each project partner to
assist with crew training, apprenticeships, and network-building to help new crewmembers

Learn to preserve meat and vegetables in jars safely during a one-day class Nov. 12
in Homer. Participants will learn how to heat-process low-acid food in jars; use and
care for a pressure canner; prepare meat, fish and vegetables to place in jars; and

Northwest Archivists' next annual meeting will be held in Spokane, Washington, from
May 8-10, 2024. The program committee is seeking session proposals related to all
aspects of archival/library practice, theory or research that is broadly related to

UAF Community and Technical College Culinary Arts and Hospitality students, led by
