Chancellor’s Report on Philanthropy

Fall 2021

Aug. 18, 2021

Dear UAF supporter,

There is a celebratory glow on the Fairbanks Troth Yeddha’ campus today, and not just because the sun came out after a solid week of rain in time for New Student Orientation. This morning as I welcomed students and their families at the Moore-Bartlett-Skarland residence halls, I was grateful for the opportunity to greet families at check-in. Today, I was also thinking of our donors, who support hundreds of scholarships at UAF and help to make education a possibility for many of our students at UAF.

I hope you’ll join me in commemorating the start of another school year. One way to do that is with a gift to UAF. I’ve given to UAF for nearly 20 years. Ann Marie and I give to UAF because we care about the mission of UAF and the role it plays in our community. We gave to UAF long before I was chancellor because we have always believed in the work of this great university. For me, giving is one of my values. It’s how I support our future. Because giving is a learned behavior, I encourage you to consider talking about your giving as a way to inspire others to give too.

I invite you to continue to support UAF. Please visit one of our campuses, meet our incredible students and tour our world-class facilities.

Thank you for your trust. Thank you for choosing UAF.
