Chancellor's Report on Philanthropy

Summer 2022

June 1, 2022

Dear UAF supporter,

I would like to reflect on your generous  support for the University of Alaska Fairbanks. April 30, UAF awarded over 1,100 degrees during the university’s 100th commencement ceremony, where we celebrated with our graduates in person. Thanks to support from you, some of these students graduated debt-free — thank you.

Your philanthropic support is providing transformative experiences to UAF students, and they are taking note of this. Increased early enrollment numbers show the Nanook Pledge and Nanook Commitment scholarships, which your contributions make possible, are key to this renewed growth. You make education possible.

Philanthropic gifts from supporters like you fund everything from graduate fellowships and research to scholarships, equipment and endowments. Initiatives like creation of the Troth Yeddha’ Indigenous Studies Center, renovation of the Patty Center and launch of the Rasmuson Library Student Success Center are possible because of your philanthropic support. You are truly making a difference at UAF, and, together, we are building a brighter future for Alaska.

Thank you for your generosity and support, and thanks for choosing UAF.
