ICE Jam events - Coming up on One-year Anniversary

August 9, 2021

ICE Jam

It's been nearly a year of ICE Jams. The first event, held in August 2020, was held virtually with Brad Feld, renowned entrepreneur and venture capitalist. Feld spoke about his entrepreneurial endeavors and drew from his industry-leading experiences to call upon all stakeholders to work together in the future.

Through this series, UAF’s Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship has offered workshops, social events, and networking opportunities. ICE Jams focus on networking (connect with like-minded innovators), learning (find out more about specific programs), and socializing (come together in a relaxed environment). Over the past 19 ICE Jam events since August 2020, 354 people have come to socialize, network, and/or learn about the startup community in Alaska and the innovation ecosystem.

More recently, the June 2021 ICE Jam event brought together panelists from Alaska startup accelerators Launch Alaska, gBETA Anchorage, and Upstart Alpha, along with the Center ICE team. The July event showcased the Center ICE Students2Startups interns and their hands-on experiences with the startups they are working with.

UAF Center ICE is planning its next ICE Jam event at the end of August as the University of Alaska fall semester begins. This will be a socializing and networking event, so stay tuned.

You can find out more about upcoming events, including this ICE Jam, through the newsletter (sign up here) as well as the innovation hub’s social media channels: Facebook or LinkedIn.
