Six Mini-Grants Available to Participate in Innovation Accelerator

To accompany the launch of its Innovation Accelerator, Center ICE will award six mini-grants of $2,500 each for University of Alaska faculty, staff, or students to participate in the Innovation Accelerator. Center ICE is now accepting proposals for these mini-grants. Awardees will use the funds to progress their innovation through any one or more of the components of the Innovation Accelerator:

  • Ideation
  • Seed funding for prototype development
  • Customer discovery to align the innovation with real-world needs
  • Gap funding where traditional funding is not available
  • IP protection
  • Pitch competition preparation or participation
  • SBIR/STTR proposal preparation
  • Commercialization support
  • Accessing physical space.


Proposals are due by March 15, 2022, and the proposed activities must be complete by Aug. 15, 2022. Proposals should not exceed three pages in length and should be submitted as a PDF document sent to edjacome@alaska.edu.
