NASA is seeking UAF emergency management and aeronautics students to form teams to create proposals for aviation-related systems that can aid in natural disaster management.

The Gateways to Blue Skies Competition is open to full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students. UAF has been asked to participate in this competition because of our commitment to emergency management, engineering, and applied research.

“As climate change increases the frequency and intensity of many natural disasters, NASA Aeronautics and its partners seek advancements that can be onboarded by 2035 to improve aviation's capabilities within disaster management efforts immediately and into the next ~10 years.”

Here at Center ICE, we specialize in developing solutions that can help communities using UAF research and a talented student base. We can connect participating students to experts in a variety of related fields and we facilitate community-driven solution development.
