Acrobatic Arts Camp

Acrobatic Dance, or acro, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. This course will combine unique choreography, blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension all while using acrobatic movements in a dance context. Acro techniques include balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based on flexibility, contortion and strength. No prior experience is necessary..

Aerial Silks II Camp

This movement-based arts class takes you to grander heights and larger drops! Experience is needed in Dancers Foot Locks, Climbs and Inversions. Students take flight up to 24 feet off the ground completing sequences of moves and working on complete control of body movement. The art of fluidity and strength are core concepts along with intricate knot work around the body.

Babysitting and CPR Camp

Activities included will give the participants the knowledge and skills to have a successful babysitting business. A few things covered are - how to safely develop a babysitting business, diapering, feeding, playing and most importantly keeping themselves and others safe. Basic first aid is covered as well as responding to emergencies such as fire, choking and CPR.

Bug Camp

Learn about Alaska’s insects and their relatives - from our beautiful butterflies and dragonflies to our less-loved mosquitoes and spiders. Through field, forest and pond, under rocks, in flowers and everywhere else, we’ll collect (catch and release and specimens for display) and study these fascinating many-legged tiny animals.

Clay Camp (2 weeks)

This is a two-week camp where students will learn different ways to create, decorate, and glaze pots during this hands-on, educational week of fun with clay. Projects will range from functional to sculptural and will be different from prior years. Artwork will be fired and presented at a student exhibition reception in the UAF Ceramics Studio on the last day of camp.

Japanese Camp

Spend a week enjoying Japanese through interactive and cultural activities and gain the cognitive benefits.

Junior Firefighter Camp

Explore the work that firefighters do, including emergency medical care, rescue, and firefighting. Activities may include practicing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and cardiac defibrillation, observing the use of powered rescue tools, and using firefighting equipment equipment such as hand tools, fire hoses, and ladders. Campers will work alongside the firefighters performing station upkeep, housekeeping, and daily equipment checks.
