ACEP in Remote Classrooms

On October 10th from 4pm-5pm ACEP Outreach Coordinator, Melody Moen, will present on an OWL video conference at Alaska State Library & Talking Book Center on the AK Energy Smart curriculum and the 2014 Alaska KidWind Design Challenge.

The AK Energy Smart curriculum is designed to foster an energy savvy and responsible Alaskan citizenry through interdisciplinary units of study that investigate how energy is all around them, while the 2014 Alaska KidWind Design Challenge is a student-oriented wind turbine design contest where students learn about wind energy through designing and constructing their own wind turbines.

The videoconference will take place at Alaska State Library & Talking Book Center
344 West 3rd Avenue, Suite 125
Anchorage, AK 99501

There are two ways for people to participate in the OWL videoconferences. They can ask their public library to “join” the OWL videoconference and then participate from there or they can contact the OWL video schedulers and ask to participate from their home or office using CISCO jabber software. Some organizations have their own video conference networks (schools) and they just need to contact the video schedulers.
