Start-up Weekend Promotes and Encourages Entrepreneurship

Pitching a business idea to a room full of potential investors sounds like a fantasy for any young start-up.  Learning how to develop your business idea with mentors on hand before the pitch is a reality on Start-up Weekend starting Friday, September 22nd, 2017 at The Hub in Fairbanks.

The 54-hour Fairbanks Techstars Start-up Weekend is part of a national entrepreneurial event that helps you take your business idea and turn it into action. At the end of the weekend, you pitch your idea to a panel of judges who have backgrounds in venture capital, start-up, and business development.  You never know if your idea will attract one of the investors in the audience looking for the next small business or idea ot invest in.

Tickets to Start-up Weekend are available here, and discounted tickets are available courtesy of the Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization for UAF students, staff and researchers. The event is sponsored by Fairbanks Economic Development Corporation, the HUB, Alaska Small Business Development Center, and partners.
