ACEP Researchers Attend Bifacial Solar PV Workshop in Colorado

ACEP faculty member Erin Whitney and research engineer Chris Pike attended the Bifi PV Workshop in Denver, Colorado. The workshop focused on advances and research in bifacial solar photovoltaic technology.

Bifacial solar PV modules absorb and convert sunlight on both sides of the panel instead of on just one side; they show significant gains in performance, as well as unique output profiles in northern latitude regions that better match user loads.

The workshop was particularly relevant to the bifacial solar PV test site recently constructed on the UAF campus under a cooperative research and development agreement with Sandia National Laboratories.
