Wilber and Whitney Gain Certified Energy Manager Certification

ACEP research engineer Michelle Wilber and faculty member Erin Whitney were recently notified that they passed the Certified Energy Manager exam. They join colleague Ben Loeffler as ACEP staff members now holding this certification.
Accredited by the American National Standards Institute through the Association of Energy Engineers, the CEM certification program is the highest standard in personnel certification accreditation in the energy industry. The training covers optimization of energy performance of a facility, building or industrial plant; systems integration for electrical, mechanical, process and building infrastructure; and analysis of optimum solutions to reduce energy consumption via cost-effective approaches.
CEMs have gained increased recognition within the energy industry and from companies looking to strengthen their competitive position by having a CEM on staff. The certification is recognized and also recommended by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Office of Naval Research, two of ACEP's key funding agencies.
