AHERC Lab Is Making Room

AHERC Lab Is Making Room

The Alaska Hydrokinetic Energy Research Center’s Stephanie Jump is starting the new year by upgrading the shelving in the Hydrokinetics Lab, located at the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus in ACEP’s Energy Technology Facility.

In recent years, AHERC’s scope of projects has increased, along with the amount of equipment needed to complete these projects. This has led to a need for more efficient storage.

AHERC has a number of deployed oceanographic moorings that will come back to the lab in the spring for maintenance and turn-around for their next deployment. To help make room for this work, two sections of 12-foot-tall pallet shelving will replace the existing storage and shelving. The goal is to take these quieter winter months to increase vertical storage and create a workspace that is better suited for current and ongoing projects.
