Stay Connected with Residence Life
The Department of Residence Life is working alongside New Student Orientation to make a safe and successful return to campus.
New Student Orientation for fall 2020 at UAF will be fully available online, while also offering some events in-person with specific guidelines regarding room capacity and maintaining safe, social distancing protocols.
We are finalizing the exact details of the New Student Orientation schedule, but here are a few highlights we can share:
Fully online, with some events in-person
Students will connect with a cohort of students led by an Orientation Leader to welcome them to campus and help transition into Nanook Nation.
We will conduct campus tours with some social distancing and capacity guidelines
Students will hear from numerous campus partners that offer a wide range of resources to help you succeed during your time at UAF
Extended Orientation programming will continue for the first 6 weeks of the semester.
We’ll make sure you know how to find your classes, where to eat, how to get books, and all the other little items that will help you succeed
Getting here for New Student Orientation
Whether you're arriving by road, train or plane, finding your way to campus is easy. Find more information on getting to campus, finding a hotel room, or arranging a shuttle to campus.
Refunds are only granted when you are not required to attend NSO and/or with a written statement from the mandated student stating why they are unable to attend NSO. All requests will be considered at the discretion of the NSO Coordinator. Please contact the NSO office with any questions or concerns.
