Alaska Sea Grant College Program
The Alaska Sea Grant College Program, a unit of the School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, was established in 1970 and represents a partnership between the National Sea Grant Program within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the University of Alaska. The Sea Grant program provides the knowledge and means for developing, utilizing and conserving the marine resources of the state and nation through a program of teaching, research and advisory services.
The research program includes projects in fisheries oceanography, fisheries sciences, fisheries enhancement, fisheries economics, food science and technology and aquaculture. Sea Grant supports continuing programs of public information and advisory services.
