Kodiak Seafood and Marine Science Center
The Kodiak Seafood and Marine Science Center contributes scientific and technical expertise through academic courses, short courses, workshops, service to the Alaska seafood industry, and research pertinent to seafood harvesting and processing. The seafood processing program focuses on greater use of Alaska's seafood harvest and issues of food safety and quality. KSMSC faculty have expertise in the areas of fisheries, nutrition, food chemistry, food microbiology, seafood processing, seafood economics and seafood engineering. The Kodiak Center provides ready access to coastal and offshore marine systems as well as freshwater streams and lakes.
