The University of Alaska Fairbanks will celebrate 2022 Indigenous Peoples' Day with several events and activities across its different colleges, campuses, and departments.


IAB Life Sciences seminar set for Oct. 7

Sarah Rice, Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Neuroscience, will present "Metabolism at Extremes: Invivo kinetics of nutrients during the hypermetabolism of critical illness and hypometabolism of hibernation" in-person at the Murie Auditorium and via Zoom on Friday, Oct. 7 from 3-4 p.m. on Sarah has recently returned to Alaska to expand her research in hibernation physiology and metabolism. Learn about Canvas assignment tool: Turnitin

Turnitin is a tool integrated with Canvas for creating assignments and viewing reports. Join an online training session Friday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. and learn how instructors use Turnitin. Register in advance to attend. Please contact Kendell Newman Sadiik for any questions.

Registration is open for the UAF Fall Career Fair scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Wood Center. Whether you are a first year student exploring, a senior looking for a job or alumni with a secured position, the Fall Career Fair is for you! Motivating Change in Others by ComPsych

How do you help someone who is struck or ambivalent about making an important change in their life? We can respectfully engage others to help them make changes through careful listening and by allowing the other person to identify their own priorities and motivations. The key communication skills addressed in this session on Friday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to noon are adapted from Motivational Interviewing.
