The Alaska Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship seeks innovative
academics interested in making a direct impact with their research ventures and finding
solutions to today's challenges while building a stronger, more resilient Alaska.
The linked Center ICE request for proposals has recently opened for submissions, and all University of Alaska faculty, staff
and students are eligible. A webinar with more details on the proposal opportunity was held on Oct. 4. The Center
ICE YouTube channel is hosting the recorded webinar. Proposals are due by Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at 8 a.m. Alaska Time.
UAF flu vaccine clinics
The UAF Student Health and Counseling Center will be hosting flu vaccine clinics for students, faculty and staff (to include partners
of faculty and staff). The first clinics will be held at the Akasofu Building on Oct. 19 and the Butrovich Building on Oct. 24, both events are from noon-2 p.m. Look for announcements of additional vaccine clinics around campus in the near future,
and join us in helping keep Nanook Nation healthy!
The Institute of Arctic Biology's Life Sciences Seminars continue through a combined
format, in-person and via Zoom. Mat(thew) Wooller, Ph.D., a UAF professor jointly appointed between the CFOS and the
INE, and the director of the Alaska Stable Isotope Facility, will present "Adopt a
Mammoth and Win!" A raffle ticket will be given to every attendee who is present in
person at this seminar - with one lucky person being selected to win the adoption
of their very own mammoth (fossil). For more information, please visit the IAB website about this seminar.
