Study: Drones effective for surveying tidewater glacier habitat

A UAF research project has shown that drones can accurately measure icebergs shed by tidewater glaciers, a potential boon for studying vanishing coastal habitat for seals and other animals in the North Pacific. Read more.

Science for Alaska: Beavers, rapid change

The Geophysical Institute will host free public talks at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays live at Schaible Auditorium and via Zoom. On March 7, Ken Tape and Seth Kantner will present “Gnawing and Thawing: Beavers and Rapid Change in Northwest Alaska.”
