University of Alaska Fairbanks provost and executive vice chancellor, Anupma Prakash,
has appointed Karsten Hueffer to serve as the dean of the College of Natural Science

CNSM as acting/interim dean for over a year. Under his leadership the college showed
a steep fiscal recovery, launched new academic programs, hired new faculty, grew enrollment,
and is moving forward embracing UAF’s vision and strategic plan.
In a UAF-owned tunnel southeast of Delta Junction, hundreds of Alaskans have learned
the skills needed to succeed in underground mine jobs -- and many others. Find out
more in the Spring 2023 Aurora.
