Ship traffic in the icy waters of the Bering Strait region

On Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to noon, Greta Ferloni will speak in Akasofu 401 about the six months she spent at IARC analyzing ship data as part of her Ph.D. studies. Findings indicate that vessel traffic has been increasing in the Bering Strait region. Read more info on the event.


UA Procurement and Contract Services closed Dec. 7

UA P&CS will be closed all day on Dec. 7 for a full staff retreat. The office will operate for normal business hours again on Dec. 8.

Photo exhibit Digi X opens in Arctic Java

The Digi X exhibit showcases work by students in Digital Darkroom, a class to develop advanced photo editing and digital darkroom skills and teach students how to create quality prints using Photoshop, Lightroom and other image techniques. The exhibit will be on display until Jan. 12, 2024. Read more on the exhibit.

As an instructor for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, I have stood before a group of Alaskans every Tuesday night this November.
