LARS to host annual Birthday Bash for new calves

The University of Alaska Fairbanks' Large Animal Research Station will introduce its new reindeer and muskox calves at its annual Birthday Bash from noon-4 p.m. on June 1. Learn more about the event activities, food and transportation available to the location.


UAF School of Education receives CAEP accreditation

UAF teacher licensure programs have earned accreditation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation in spring 2024. CAEP promotes excellence in educator preparation through content and pedagogy, clinical partnerships and practice, candidate recruitment, progression and support, program impact, and quality assurance and continuous improvement. UAF offers free summer shuttle for visitors

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will have a free shuttle for summer visitors. The shuttle will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 31. The daily schedule will begin and end at the UAF Wood Center bus stop. Read more and see the shuttle’s hourly schedule.

UAF, Toolik Field Station join Arctic climate initiative

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will help host and support a new $15-million federal initiative to better understand the resilience of Arctic organisms and ecosystems amid rapid climate change. Bringing together experts from 14 institutions, the Evolving Meta-Ecosystems Institute will focus on improving scientific and public understanding of how Arctic ecosystems are responding -- and will continue to respond -- as their environment shifts.
