Chancellor Dan White will host an R1 forum on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 1-2 p.m. in the Davis Concert Hall and online via UAF's YouTube channel. The event will focus on the results of the recent R1 strategy workshop that drew more than 60 UAF students and employees. The forum will include time for audience questions. Discount Day Passes for local ski areas

Moose Mountain is planning to open Friday, Nov. 15. Ski Land shouldn't be far behind. Students taking 6 credits this semester are eligible to purchase a limited number of $10 day passes available each day the mountains are open. Passes go on sale each morning at 9 a.m. this year. UA Foundation seeks nominations for 2024 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence

The University of Alaska Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2024 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence. The prize, which includes a $20,000 award, is presented to an individual who has demonstrated excellence in support of the University of Alaska. Any UA student, faculty, staff, alumni or volunteer who has made a significant contribution to the university's mission is eligible to be nominated. A Place for Knowledge Exchange collaboration brunch

The facilitators of A Place for Knowledge Exchange seminar series invite you to a collaboration brunch at 10 a.m. hosted by the International Arctic Research Center and College of Indigenous Studies. From 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 15, Chris Maio, Casey Fergson and Angela Johnson with the Alaska Coastal Cooperative will give a presentation about working toward a community-first approach to climate resilience. Anyone may participate in the Facial Hair/Bearding Competition at UAF's Polar Grizz Festival on Friday, Nov. 22 from 6-8 p.m. in the Wood Center Multi-Level Lounge. Nominations sought for Alaska Innovators Hall of Fame

The Juneau Economic Development Council is pleased to join the Alaska State Committee for Research in encouraging nominations for the Alaska Innovators Hall of Fame. Nominations must be submitted no later than Dec. 31, 2024. Learn more on the nomination process.


UAF, partners receive $15 million to form innovation hub

The University of Alaska Fairbanks is one of eight universities jointly awarded $15 million by the National Science Foundation to support and train academics to turn their research outcomes into entrepreneurial accomplishments. Read more about the new innovation hub.
