Research interests/biography

David Valentine is interested in ecosystem ecology, particularly in northern regions. Recent research projects focused on how changing soil moisture affects forest soil carbon balance and how landscape position affects soil characteristics. He is pursuing ways to help develop and promote sustainable woody biomass-based energy systems in Alaska. Soil science, biogeochemistry.
