Research interests/biography

Applies igneous and experimental petrology to understanding active volcanism, through field-based and laboratory studies of Aleutian arc and other magmatic systems. Maps eruptive histories of active Aleutian arc volcanoes. Research includes constraints on the locations of crustal magma storage systems; constraints on magmatic ascent rates through crust; physical volcanology, stratigraphy, and geologic mapping studies of volcanoes in Alaska.
