Helga Wagenleiter is a Native German with 40 years in Alaska, and teaching her mother language for UAF since 2008. She holds a masters degree in language and literacy from UAF, a graduate degree in social pedagogy/education as well as a bachelor's degree in artisanry from higher education institutions in Germany. With plenty of other extracurricular education in Alaska playing a role, the German program is now offering all courses up to a 300 level face to face and online. “We go where the students are'', which means we want all learners, especially in Alaska, to find a communicative, engaging course that they can take wherever they are, and in which they can thrive.
