Financial Aid

There are many scholarship opportunities for music students at UAF. The first step in the scholarship process is to visit the UAF Financial Aid website and begin the paperwork process. The deadline for this is February 15. If you have questions prior to applying contact the Music Office.

CRITERIA:

In order to be considered for a Department of Music (all of the below except the Fairbanks Symphony Scholarship) the applicant must be enrolled as a full-time music major or have applied for admission to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, with music as the declared major.

All scholarship applicants are required to submit a performance through a digital upload service such as YouTube or Google Drive, or a DVD if electronic upload is not an option. The performance in the video should include two contrasting works displaying both technical and musical abilities. Please include two letters of recommendation (one should be from a music teacher). In addition, high school and college transcripts are required for all incoming freshmen and transfer students.

All applications, performance links, transcripts, and letters of recommendation must be submitted by March 1 for Music Department scholarships and April 15 for Fairbanks Symphony awards. Unless all materials are present, the application will not be considered. Complete application materials should be sent to the address shown below.
