Full-time faculty and post-docs are encouraged to apply for NASA Research Infrastructure Development Seed Grants. The goal is to provide early and mid-career faculty with funds to realign their research focus and develop collaboration with NASA centers. By the end of the one-year grant, faculty will have built up research infrastructure and technology capabilities and are prepared to pursue one of NASA’s regular grant programs (https://nspires.nasaprs.com/external/).

  • Maximum funding of $52,700.
  • One-year period of performance. No-cost extensions will not be provided.
  • Cost-sharing (matching) is not required.

The following are the three research priority areas as identified as intersection with NASA’s strategic goals and the state of Alaska’s research priorities.

  1. Earth system science
  2. Technologies for space and extreme environments
  3. Aeronautics research

Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Nov. 15.
