Walter Benesch, UAF professor of philosophy and humanities, emeritus (1963-1997) has been selected to receive the 2002 Governor’s Award for Humatities Scholar for outstanding intellectual contributions to the humanities.

Benesch will be presented with the award at the 2002 Governor’s Arts and Humanities Awards being held Oct. 25 in Anchorage.
