Dear Blackboard users:

Faculty members will have an opportunity to evaluate the new Blackboard release Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at 1 p.m.

With the recent launch of the Blackboard Learning and Community PortalSystems (Release 6) and the upcoming general availability of the Blackboard Learning System - Basic Edition (Release 6), from Blackboard, many have requested a detailed overview of the new product. Blackboard has offered to present a demonstration of this new version for those who would like to see the new changes. This demo is designed to help system administrators, faculty, instructional designers, trainers, and others to determine if moving to the Release 6 implementation is desirable.

The demonstration will be hosted and presented by Blackboard Inc. The 1 hour and 15 minute overview will be delivered via the Web and will include a detailed explanation of the new features and functions in system architecture, the teaching and learning environment, and the community portal environment. To ensure that Blackboard is able to address the many new features in the time allotted, all questions will be addressed at the end of the session, as time permits.

If you would like to see the demo, please send an e-mail message with your name and phone number to support@classes.uaf.edu. , no later than November 3, 2002. All confirmed participants will receive detailed information about how to access the Web-based product overview prior to the scheduled session.

I hope that you are able to participate in the upcoming product overview to explore the many benefits of Release 6. If you have questions, you may contact me at (907) 474-6350.

I realize this is short notice, however, Blackboard just released this information.
