Resource Solutions, a program of the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Environment and Natural Resource Institute, will sponsor a two-day workshop at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge entitled Facilitating Work Groups and Public Meetings. The workshop will take place March 11 - 12, 2003 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Jane Oakley, who has 25 years of professional experience in education, training, facilitation and curriculum design, will lead the course.

"It’s an excellent opportunity to review and practice skills for running focused meetings that achieve goals," said Margaret King, program manager with Resource Solutions. "The training will involve case studies, facilitation exercises and practice scenarios." Activities at the workshop will cover topics such as the role of the facilitator, decision-making, group process skills and conflict management.

The registration form is available online at http://uaa.alaska.edu/enri/rs_site/rs1.html. Please register by March 4. The fee for the workshop is $300 and continuing education units will be available for an additional $35.
