PROJECTS UNDERWAY:

More than $60 million in construction projects will take place at UAF in the next two years with activities concentrated on the West Ridge. This, as contractors finish another $50 million dollars in projects in the campus core.

In an effort to meet the growing demand of historical exhibition, tourism, and research initiatives at UAF, four large construction projects are underway. These projects include the West Ridge Utilidor Extension, UA Museum Expansion Project, West Ridge Research Building, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Subarctic Research Facility.

Please drive carefully and watch for increased truck traffic. Speeds in along Tanana Loop will be reduced to 20 miles-per-hour. Pedestrians, bikers and rollerbladers should avoid construction areas.

These projects will bring much-needed infrastructure to the West Ridge area, allowing for future expansion. In addition, updated research centers will make available much needed space for new grant programs to develop research projects which will benefit all Alaskans.
