The Farthest North Forest Sports Festival is an annual fall event that celebrates the centuries-old traditions of lumberjacking. The event, in its sixth year, is sponsored by the Department of Forest Sciences and School of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences (SNRAS).

The all-day event takes place at the UAF Experimental Farm Sept. 27, 2003 and begins at 10 a.m. provides students, staff, faculty, and the general public an opportunity to test their woodsmen skills, learn about the boreal forest and the discipline of forestry, and simply enjoy a fall day as a spectator.

Events include:
Pulp toss, Axe throw, Log rolling, 1-person crosscut, 2-person cross-cut, Jack & Jill crosscut, Fire building, Birling (last event, occurs after moving to Ballaine Lake at 1 p.m.).
