The UAF police department is responding to an alarming increase of property theft reports from various university locations. Doors to lockers, offices, classrooms and areas containing costly equipment need to be locked when not in use or are unoccupied. Thefts are occurring by people walking into offices and taking loose items like laptop computers, purses and money. We also have reports of entries into unlocked cars and items being removed.

Police are asking students, staff and faculty to please secure their personal and office items. Do NOT leave purses, backpacks or other personal belongings unattended, even for a short period of time. UAF is committed to a safe environment for students, staff and faculty. Contact the UAF police at 474-7721 to report suspicious activity and for information on implementing successful crime prevention programs.
