UAF students receive more than $600,000 in awards

More than $600,000 in privately funded scholarships have been awarded to 385 students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for the 2003-04 academic year. The awards were made possible by our donors to the university, many of whom are alumni or owners of local businesses.

"The generosity of our donors to privately funded scholarships grows every year," said Pamela Davis, executive director of the UAF Development Office. "So many outstanding students are able to fulfill their dreams of higher education because of our donors’ philanthropy. "

The 7th annual scholarship breakfast, recognizing the donors of privately funded scholarships and the students who received them, will take place Thursday, April 8 at 7:30 a.m. in the Wood Center Carol Brown Ballroom.

"The annual scholarship breakfast is a great way to promote interaction between students and donors," said Davis.
