Tree thinning on West Ridge

Due to tree thinning on the West Ridge of the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus near the Geophysical Institute, certain areas of the trail will be closed while work is proceeding there.

The selected trees are being removed in an effort to give line of sight operation to the Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite dish.

Trail users should use caution and avoid tree removal areas.
