New book on Arctic kayaks

The University of Alaska Press announces the publication of "Eastern Arctic Kayaks: history, design, technique" by John D. Heath and Eugene Arima.

This book is the product of years of kayak study by two of the worldäó»s experts. Lavishly illustrated with drawings and historic photographs, Eastern Arctic Kayaks is a landmark study in the history of watercraft--an essential resource for recreational kayakers and maritime historians, and for anyone interested in northern Native material culture. The University of Alaska Press is located in 104 Eielson Hall. Students, faculty, and staff received a 10 percent discount on all books.
